These days you can get up to 8gb fairly cheap. Have a look around online, you'll be able to get a better price than in a retail store.

The brand doesn't make a huge difference as they all use pretty much the same flash chips anyway. If you can get one with Intel flash then do - they have a much lower fail rate than the standard Hynix / Samsung chips usually seen.
