I know most of the malwares I get comes through because of the vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer, but I just won't use another browser because I'm already used to using IE. I heard Firefox and Opera are very good. Do you use them? And do you really get less or no malwares at all with Firefox?

Most people get these malwares because they visit sites they shouldn't go to.
Stay away from porn sites, sites for illegal software downloads, software cracks, etc... and you should be fine! |

IE6 is a very vulnerable browser, I would suggest downloading Firefox and using that unitll IE7 comes out which seems to be the most secure browser from the beta tests. You can try it at Microsoft.com but I dont like using beta programs as my default application for web browsing.

Firefox is generally exploited less because not as many people have been using it. The most exploits usually get written for the biggest browser, i.e. Internet Explorer. I use IE 99% of the time but when I need to check out a site I'm not sure about I do sometimes load up Firefox.

I use Opera. I find it easiest to use and I think it is the fastest too. I do not think it has any security problems.

Opera is useful if you access WAP sites. IE and Mozilla Firepox are not WAP "compliant" . So if you don't have a mobile phone to access a WAP site you can turn to web using Opera.

All browsers have malicious codes, but IE has the most only because they've been targetted the longest.
All these users try to exploit IE thats the reason why. |
