I only use my camera phone for snapshots. I never rely on my camera phone to take a nice picture, I have my digital slr for this. I think I will also never buy a phone because of its camera!

Just like how Digital Cameras can be used to take videos, it cannot take up a role as a Video Recorder. A phone may take pictures but it cannot take up a role as a Digital Camera.
Phones also have less quality and you cannot hold many images.

I think camera phones are nothing but fun stuff, one should never take it seriously to take photographs and record videos. It is meant for a little bit of fun clicking pictures but if anyone wants to go for serious picture clicking and video recording, camera phone is not the device for it. For such things digital cameras and video recorders are available in the market.

Well I mean at first I thought the same thing. When I had a non camera phone. But now that I have one things have completely changed. First of all. whenever im out and see something memoriable. I am usually at a loss for a camera but I always have my phone around.

I don't use my camera phone for great quality pictures. There have been times though when it has come in handy. I have been somewhere and ended up wanting to take a picture. Since I didn't have my digital camera, I used my cell phone.

It is a relative need..means not all people actually "need" camera phones but even then they purchase them..In my view..if you do not need to take pictures like if you are some business person need web browser more than a camera..you should go for a windows mobile or similar one supporting web..rather than the one including camera with little web functioning..what I have observed is, only teenagers "prefer" camera phones these days..which is a genuine need I guess..
