Overall General Motors lead the US automobile industry. I believe Toyota or Ford comes on the second position.

Ya, General Motors is probably one of the biggest as far as american goes. But there is a lot of Japanese cars that are popular too. Honda and Toyota, each are pretty popular.

I think Ford is the top gun in the United States. Although with gas prices on the rise, I think that might change soon enough while others will start to turn to imports and such.

I think GM leads the way in US for the most popular car maker. But if you want to go for an executive saloon then I would suggest you to buy Toyota Camry. Its easily affordable and gives very good performance.
Or else if you have a higher budget you can also go for Audi A4.I think its the best executive saloon in the market now. |

To be the most popular car in America, a model has to posses a wealth of features- reliability, safety, inoffensive yet attractive styling, power, and good gas mileage. Considering these design features, these desirable traits come together in the Toyota Camry and it is the most popular car in America since 2002.
