I really like the quality of pictures that can be taken with digital cameras. I have always gotten good results. Printing the photos is also fun and saves on money in the long run.

I really cant believe that cameras now go up to 10 megapixels. Wow, why do you need that many?

See photo printouts of 4'X3' inches which is normal size needs 3 megapixel picture to obtain a good print in paper. So rest megapixels are a waste of computer storage memory as the 4-5 MB sized images would become 100-200KB if pixels r reduced.

Photography seems expensive but I think entry-level cameras is affordable for many. They can satisfy the needs of new photographers until they come to higher levels.
I can suggest panasonic canon or nikon entry-level cameras for beginners.
